The NHT A-1 monaural amplifier is a workhorse amplifier designed for any number of applications. The NHT A1 is a full range amplifier useful for powering subwoofers, bi-amping large speakers or used in a stereo pair in conjunction with a good preamp. The NHT A1 has both balanced and unbalanced I/O and is low-profile, only a single rack space. The NHT A1's hybrid Class AB/G design runs cooler and is more efficient than traditional amps. The NHT A1 amplifier is rack mountable using the optional NHT E-1 19" EIA rack mount kit. The NHT A-1's is a full-range amplifier having a minimum frequency response from 20Hz – 20kHz. The NHT A1 is rated at 250W rms into 6 ohms and can easily run down to 4 ohms with stability. The A1 features a proprietary soft-clipping circuit, particularly important for use with subwoofer systems. The NHT A-1 can be auto powered on or off via a 12-24 volt trigger, or by an audio signal sensing circuit.

Great Amp, Great Price

I wanted a good amp to bi-amp my Fours, These did the Trick, I have used it both straight out of a reciever (with only minor level control in the reciever), as well as with NHT's X2 Crossover, with full volume control, phase, boundry eq... There is no question that using it with the X2 provides much better control, and is Preferable. But either way you go, the A1 is an outstanding Amp that is bulletproof, and offers a great value!

The A-1 amp is incredibly versatile and robust

The A-1 amp is incredibly versatile and robust. This is an audiophile grade amp that can work 24/7. It has all of the inputs, outputs, and trigger options to satisfy even the most demanding systems, and is a perfect mate to the Four speaker system, or any speaker system for that matter. You can't go wrong with this amp for any system.
